Hello, I’m Ms. Smith! I am so excited to be back at UDA and teaching STEAM! I cannot wait to get to know the new UDA families and students in TK-8th grade, as well the returning families and students. I am loving San Diego and the adventures that I have made living here with my husband. This school year is going to be fun, and I am happy to share my new curriculum ideas for STEAM this school year.
I have been in the education world for seven years. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in 3rd grade and inspired by an amazing relationship that I had with my teacher. I am a teacher that is a firm believer of building relationships with students. I completed my undergrad at Missouri State University in elementary education, with an emphasis in technology and project based learning. I then continued my education and received my Masters in Educational Leadership. I started teaching 5th grade, and then moved to a 3rd grade position. This is my second year teaching in California and second year of teaching STEAM.
When teaching is not taking over my free time, I enjoy spending the summers at the lake! I love to water ski, wake board, and barefoot water ski. I also enjoy traveling and exploring the town with my husband and our friends.
