Ms. Lindsey Betts is beyond excited to be continuing with UDS as the Middle School English teacher. After graduating from Claremont McKenna College in 2016 with a major in Literature and a minor in Biology, she worked for a YouthBuild charter school in Van Nuys where she designed curriculum and programming. When she realized that she preferred to work in the classroom teaching the lessons and curriculum she designed, she worked to earn her Secondary ELA credential and receive a Masters in Teaching from UCI’s School of Education. Even before college, literature and film have been at the forefront of Ms. Betts’ several passions. She hopes to instill a similar love for reading and storytelling, and learning as a whole, in her students. At UDS, Ms. Betts has the freedom to design relevant curriculum that equips her students with the skills to analyze the world around, creatively solve their community’s challenges, as well as tell their own stories.
