UDA has an unprecedented partnership with UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. UDA is one of the only K-12 schools in the country to have a university embedded on our campus. This partnership provides all UDA students with unparalleled on-site access to a top-ranked university to help prepare students for success.
UDA High School Students have the opportunity to complete – for FREE during regular school hours – university-transferable courses and career certifications on campus, as well as workplace internships with local businesses and nonprofits, that give our graduates a powerful head-start toward college and their future careers. UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Programs available to our students include:
UDA Elementary Students have the opportunity to participate (at cost or via scholarship) in UC San Diego's Sally Ride Academy. These hands-on STEAM workshops are offered after school and/or during the summer months at UDA.
UDA Families have access to Parent and Caregiver Education coursework through the UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies, a series of workshops designed to support families in navigating academics, social-emotional learning, technology, and other important development topics for parents. These workshops are offered in person and online in both English and Spanish.
This unique partnership offers access to a prestigious UC San Diego-affiliated school to some of San Diego’s most diverse, under-served/resourced communities. This is a one-of-a-kind educational experience not offered anywhere else in San Diego, including private or public schools. Plus, UDA is FREE, open to all, and customized to the individual needs of each student.
Through our partnership with UC San Diego, our educators are able to access a range of professional educator training opportunities and supplemental credentialing programs right on our campus, allowing them to further enhance their learning and update their skills to serve our students most effectively.
UDA is more than just a school; it's a one-of-a kind Community Education Hub, with additional tools, resources, and support needed under one roof to set students and families up for success on their educational journey.
