Kim Oakley
Kim Oakley grew up in Humboldt County, California and attended San Diego State University to study Liberal Studies Blended Teacher Education, earning a multiple subject teaching credential with an emphasis in Human Development. After teaching early elementary sheltered-English immersion courses in the Bay Area, she moved to Seattle where she attended Seattle Pacific University (SPU) for a Masters degree in Teacher Leadership while teaching upper elementary gifted education. In 2016, she became the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at an international private school in Costa Rica and soon after established and was the principal at a PreK-8th grade dual-language, SpEd-immersion private school there. During this time, she was also an online instructor for graduate-level coursework at SPU in Education Technology and Educational Leadership. In 2023, a new position with a curriculum company brought her and her family back to San Diego where she now joins the UDA community.
