Cindy Velline
Cindy Velline brings a variety of educational experience to UDA that includes teaching and administration. Cindy earned her B.A. in art education from the University of Iowa and her M.A. in educational administrative services from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Cindy is a highly experienced K-12 art teacher. Her art lessons focus on artistic perception, creative expression, cultural and historical context, aesthetic valuing and making connections to other content areas. She has taught in rural communities, large urban settings and virtually in Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas and California.
Cindy’s work experience also includes ten years of charter school experience with Julian Charter School as an Academy Coordinator and Educational Facilitator. She also served as the San Diego Unified School District Visual Arts Resource Specialist. Her responsibilities included modeling instruction and planning teacher workshops, creating standards-based curriculum and assessments, coordinating the annual district art exhibition and developing community partnerships with local museums, arts organizations and artists.
Cindy and her family reside in North Park, the community where her husband grew up.
