About Mrs. Weston:
I grew up here, in beautiful San Diego. I have a passion for Mathematics and Science and their connections to our world, such as in art, nature and physics. I spent two years of my life living in Spain, learning all about the culture and language. I loved every opportunity to travel and that is where I found my joy of teaching, as I taught at a bilingual high school in Andalusia, Spain while living there. I went to Cal State San Marcos for my undergrad and San Diego State for my teaching credential. I completed my Masters in Education and Social Justice Teaching from Cal State Fresno. For me, teaching math and science through a social justice lens provides students the opportunity to critically analyze the world around them and grows them as global citizens.
Outside of teaching I love to hang out with family and friends, swim, and do yoga. This is my ninth year teaching here at Urban Discovery Academy Middle School and I look forward to the great experiences that this school year will bring!
Mathematical science shows what is. It is the language of unseen relations between things. But to use and apply that language, we must be able fully to appreciate, to feel, to seize the unseen, the unconscious. -Ada Lovelace
