Hi, I'm Wojciech! I am thrilled to be part of UDA family and can't wait for this year to kick off. This is my first year at UDA and third year in San Diego. I was originally born in Poland but I moved to Connecticut at an early age. I grew up in a large family where cookouts that left us with leftovers for the entire week were a normal thing. We would always be active and find ways to keep us busy like tag and hide and go seek during the night. It didn't stop there, we always had some kind of large family game to top off the day to burn off those calories. Our families needed to find other outlets of all this chalked up energy in the house and we found that in sports. I started to realize then how important it was to enjoy the soccer and volleyball games that would go on for five or six different rounds, not because who won or scored the most points, but because the people around me were having just as much fun as I was. They taught me to be open to a variety of activities which I would never have thought would give me the confidence to help me become a better person on and off the field.
Fast forward some time while meeting some amazing teachers and coaches that saw something that stood out in me. They inspired me to challenge myself to be the best that I can. My goal is to take all my experiences and become an even more influential role model to our students by creating unique ways of challenging the mind and body as a whole. The relationships we make with our students have boundless ends which is why it is crucial to start healthy lifestyle habits at an early age. It is my passion to teach lifelong skills that will motivate our youth to incorporate these ideas in their own future as they find their path just like I did. If you are ever in the academy come say hello and check out the rooftop to see what PE is all about!
