Design Challenges & Exhibitions

What makes Urban Discovery Academy unique is our core approach to learning. Students solve interdisciplinary, community-based problems as an important pillar of the UDA academic experience. In addition to our core math and ELA curricula which teach and assess critical skills on an ongoing basis, our teachers lead students through ongoing design challenges each term, which are interdisciplinary projects that require real world problem-solving, independent exploration, and collaborative learning. This curricular work is the heart of the UDA experience, developing our students to become more self-motivated, socially responsible, competent, and lifelong learners.

To celebrate the design work of our students, Urban Discovery Academy hosts Exhibition Nights each trimester or semester for all of our students to celebrate and showcase their learning with our greater community. Student exhibitions highlight and display student projects and supplemental work, including the arts. Exhibitions are open to the public and offer families deeper insight to each student's learning experience and enrichment programming. We love to have our family and community members celebrate with us!
