Joelle Atencio

Joelle Atencio grew up in Salinas, California in a family of makers, so art and design have always been a part of her life. After studying Fine Art and Graphic Design at San Diego City College, Joelle spent over a decade working in graphic design. Her path led to a desire for a more fulfilling purpose working with young people. She soon joined UDS to teach art and design. Joelle is excited to work at a school that champions the values she believes in, like equity based learning and student led creative projects. Outside of the classroom, Joelle loves music, riding her bike, and being creative.
