Ms. Kristie Morscher

Kristie Morsher is a Visual Art specialist with over 20 years experience instructing in diverse elementary environments and currently holds a Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art. Her background, approach and passion for Art Education blend seamlessly with Urban Discovery Schools’ vision and academic philosophy.

In 2000, Ms. Morsher earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Education from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. She then became the Art teacher at Elida Elementary in Elida, Ohio. After moving to Chicago in 2003, Ms. Morsher spent the next 18 years instructing Art for Chicago Public Schools. She taught K-8th grade Art for 10 years at Dodge Renaissance Academy followed by 8 years at National Teachers Academy. Both positions enabled her to acquire essential leadership roles including Enrichment Lead Teacher, Leadership Team Member, Art Liaison and Mentor Teacher.

During the summer of 2021, Kristie and her boyfriend packed up their life in Chicago and headed west on Route 66. Living in San Diego, Ms. Morsher continued teaching Art to K-6th grade students at Flora Vista Elementary in Encinitas, CA. Even though it was a wonderful experience, she couldn’t let the opportunity to teach at UDA pass her by! Ms. Morsher is thrilled to be a part of Urban Discovery Academy’s collaborative, supportive and inspiring school environment and recognizes the value in providing hands-on Art opportunities to young creative thinkers.
