Urban Discovery Academy (UDA) is a free public school located in the heart of downtown San Diego serving students in universal transitional kindergarten through 12th grade. UDA empowers students to explore beyond the classroom, engage with their community, and make a difference in the world.  From our youngest learners to college-bound students, UDA offers a fully integrated continuum of education where students can complete their entire UTK-12 education in one place, with interdisciplinary design challenges that help solve real-world problems and comprehensive enrichment programming for all ages.

Through unprecedented partnerships with UC San Diego and Reality Changes, UDA has created a one-of-a-kind Community Education Hub in downtown San Diego. We are one of the only K-12 schools in the country to have a university embedded on our campus, which provides all UDA students with unparalleled access to a top-ranked university on-site to help prepare students for success, as well as ensuring extra support for first-generation college-bound students and their families.
